What is the BGS Trading Post?
The BGS Trading Post is a Classifieds service provided by the PTO. BGS families can have items posted to the PTO website for three different categories which include, Items For Sale, Free Items and Wish List Items.
The Wish List has many possibilities and would also include Teachers’ wish list items for the classroom. For example, a teacher may need a certain book for the classroom library. Perhaps a BGS family has one they no longer read. You may have items taking up space around your home that you no longer use such as a lawn mover, or a file cabinet, a couch, stroller, etc. This would be a great way to recycle, de-clutter and help BGS families and staff.
How will the service work?
- Email your postings to Melba Mallon (melbamallon@verizon.net) no later than the 15th of each month so that your postings will appear on the website for the upcoming month.
- Include your name, telephone number &/or email address, category of your posting (sale/free/wish list) and a detailed description of your item along with the price, if it’s for sale. You may also include one digital picture of the item(we will not be listing clothing items on the Trading Post).
- For Sale postings will cost $1.00 each. You may send in your payment through your child’s backpack in an envelope marked “Trading Post”.
- Items that are in the “Free” or “Wish List” category will be free to post. Each family may post up to five items each month. The items will be posted for the current month unless you notify Melba to remove your posting beforehand.
- When you see an item posted that you are interested in, just contact that person and make payment (if applicable) and pick up arrangements.
